I desperately want white marble (Danby or Calcutta) for my kitchen. Everyone is trying to talk me out of it. Does it stain instantly with foods like mustard, kool-aid, and red wine, or is it only stained if the spill is left on the counter? Does anyone regret having it installed?

Marble stains faster than you'd think - but after a while, all the stains & haze marks become a patina that reflects your life's history.

If that's not something you want, then perhaps you'd be better off with a quartz material or even one of the excellent new laminates that look like stone.
