pocket or barn door for Master Closet and laundry space

We are planning on using a pocket door for our Master closet, but I am now wondering if any door is even necessary. We both are pretty organized and I think we would be leaving the door open anyway-so why spend the $$ on a door. Is it important to have a door to the closet in the Master Suite?

My other door question is about the laundry space-This is a small space that we have just made even smaller to give us a little extra room in the kitchen. We pushed in just 1 foot, but in the small room, 1 foot makes a difference. Looking at this space I lose quite a bit of storage space that the door will use. Also a lot of the window will be covered by the door. I am thinking about using a barn door instead. Would this work? Are barn doors heavy?

Thank you for your advice. I am learning so much from this site since I am a newbie at all this!!!

This is the type of door I was thinking about for the laundry door. Would this work or is there one that might work better?
