I would love to know what it is too. I bought a piece at a garage sale about 5 years back. The person selling it took me into her yard to see the clump she had. And she said it spread a bit but it never needed staking. I liked its height. Mine are 6 to 10 feet tall. The bees like it. Well, a few years later and it has taken over a large patch of my yard. It's a bit too aggressive for me.
