White Dove all around! You have a back splash, whatever you do. There is space there that you can chose to cover, or just paint, but no matter what, a choice is made. I have white cabs, white counter, and white subway, and I don't think it is too much white, so I don't think your beadboard would be "too white." But, I like the BEFORE of your link- a stamped metal. It is still "farm house" but is also wipe-able and not white.

thanks, y'all! So White Dove for cabinets, trim and ceiling! I used subway tile in my bathroom and love it. I have a hard time envisioning what things will look like. I really hate my tile floor. I wish it was grey tile but it's beige and I feel it's harder to find things to go with it even though it's a neutral. I'll have to think about the backsplash. I have never seen bead-board in person so I"m not sure I would even like it. A friend suggested it and it does look nice in photos but I need to look at it in person to really decide. Does anyone like this for a backsplash? I see some paint on your cabinet doors - maybe you are just trying out colors, but read some good cabinet painting tutorials before you start. You need a really good primer like Zinsser BIN or possibly Zinsser 123 (might not be quite as good as the BIN but I used it on my laundry room cabinets and they have held up fine) and a good quality cabinet paint. Check at you local reputable (not big box) paint store and they will help set you up with good products. Do remove doors and set up a clean place to work. Remove hardware from doors and frames.

I think that is the Ikea farmhouse sink in your picture. It is reasonably priced. I do not know how much alteration of the sink base it takes to install it, but it looks high enough not to interfere with your sink base doors. The Kohler Whitehaven short apron is a farm house sink that fits on a standard sink base. It is a great cast iron sink, but it is pricy. I have one and my installer said it will last decades - not sure about the ikea fireclay sink - but you do have to consider your budget. Also, the Whitehaven is an under mount sink. If you cannot afford a farmhouse sink at this time, putting a curtain on the sink base cabinet can give the illusion of a farmhouse sink - especially if you have a cast iron drop in.

I recently put in my own subway tile backsplash. I have tiled before, but it is a possible first project, especially if you have other rooms to work on. I am very glad I learned to tile. A subway tile backsplash is not expensive if you go with a traditional tile. The beadboard on the diagonal is interesting, but I think it would drive me crazy getting the lines to line up right:) Another thought is the beadboard wallpaper. It would be a short term solution (and very inexpensive) if you want to save up for something special. I have used it in my powder room and my basement kitchenette. (pics in "my pics" idea book.)

I do like the Lowe's backsplash. I waited till my counters were in to make the backsplash decision. I am glad because seeing the counters with cabinets tweaked my opinion.

yes, i am trying out colors but i'm not painting them myself. I am not a DIY type of person. ha! I have a painter, just need to decide on paint. Once i saw those colors, I didn't like them and then I decided white may just be the best choice. I will most definitely wait on the backsplash decision. I vote for the white dove all around. I also like your penny tile. Another option could be the same small herringbone tile as in the picture you posted , but not the gray..You can find the same style marble but with brown and white tones that will work with your floor.
