Need something for my corner

I just redid my living room but want something for my living room corner. I didn't want a matching coffee and end table set so can you give me an idea of what I can put there. Greatly appreciated.

Yes same room...stairway is next to the loveseat - floor lamp behind it.

What's in front of it? May we please see a picture showing more of this area? What items do you want to put on the table or cabinet?
You might see it better from this pic. Just like something there if people want to lay drinks on etc.

Meanwhile, back to the corner issue. I'm sorry I missed that earlier, but my choice of greenery application would be a great plant hook in the ceiling and a lovely cradled hanging flora. Paired with a low 'corner' triangle or low, small, rectangle table, a chin height hanging plant is a beauty.

Rather than just "sticking something in the corner" - Utilize the space of the corner with an etagere. Although you can probably find one at a consignment, thrift, vintage or antique shop - Pier 1 has a tapered etagere that could give 1. Height and 2. Functional display & storage to your corner design dilemma. It's on sale now for $179 - You can place books, momentos, bowls, a plant, magazines, or even stacking boxes to hide remotes or even small pet toys. It will also be a great display piece in the room at holiday, to balance the height of a tree. You just need a drinks table, so something like the little table I showed you, and yes, it could be a different color.

So some reason the pic I posted went to the top. I bought this yesterday at Pier 1 but don't think it is good enough..more of a serving tray. What you think?

If you use your living at night perhaps you would need more light in it ,consider adding a tak light as well . To answer you question about the Pier 1 table .... it looks more like a tray with legs then a table .

So far i have found this style of lamp

I like your little tray table, but would prefer something that looks less fragile. But I know from what you've said that shopping is limited in your area.
I agree it does look fragile..just another thing to bring back and I will keep looking.
I found this table at Home Sense over the weekend. I love the vase because so shiny but I took the plant back. What do you think of the white table?

    The table is too ornate.
    What does ornate mean?
Ornate. Very busy, fussy. Like those big gold frames you see in antique stores. Not right for you for sure. You really don't need a frame just a much bigger picture. 40 x 40 or bigger.
Table is not ornate. Just not the style for room. It looks country. You are more modern style. Think bigger and glass and dark wood.
I would put a small chest type in that corner. Dark wood. Would fill space in. Place tall chunky base lamp. Make base a color like teal. Black shade mix it up for interest.
I agree tray table to small. Pier one has all kinds of tables. Some great lamps also. Buy something with color maybe a mosaic, I saw one with peacock colors. Very unusual .put bigger and more color pillows on sofa and chair.

I ilke the large plant ideas. The 6ft. trifold slotted stand is nice but a pain to dust and clean. I had indoor shutters and what a pain to keep clean. Corner open shelves & decorate w/favorite books another idea.
I like coffee table and end table look. I saw it at Pier one. Don't be afraid to mix up pieces. Don't play it safe. A room is interesting when it has a more layered look with a lot of texture.
Could you send me pics so I can look around...only stores we have are pier 1 and Home Sense...very limited here.
A tree is good idea, again Pier one has some. Since I can't see whole rm. not sure where it would go, maybe other side of firepl??
I just looked at earlier post. I thought I saw firepl but guess it was a Buffett. But when you think plant, think big. Like Carolyn post earlier with palm. I love big palms use all the time to fill wall and corner space.
Isn't your table glass. Coasters are fine. But glass won't stain.
I need to get this corner figured out first. I do have a electric fireplace on a wall..you might see it in previous pics.
A screen is nice idea. 6 ft tall with a print in color on it. Maybe a Asian feel. Keep looking ck TJMax always good for decor. I shop there all the time. When I see something I buy it. It won't be there if you wait. Designers shop TJ and keep things for clients as they need them.

I like the mis-matched tables! Of course, I have not seen the rest of the home, but layer it as you go, it doesn't have to be perfect all in one shot!

Corner shelves (like the IKEA LACK ones suggested earlier) could be really interesting floating in the corner.
Sorry you do have firepl. I'm going blind. Like it. But add 2 yellow stick with that one in lower ht.

I'd move the round table with the lamp over into the other corner. Then do something like this boomerang table in the corner nearest the window, instead. http://krrb.com/posts/33091-rare-mcm-boomerang-corner-table

it seems interesting to me for that corner. but what you're mentioning would be the best place for it.. it all depends on what you are comfortable with & want for your room. :)
Likewise i know this is for outdoors, but just a thought..

how about something like a tall bird cage for the corner...

I'm heading to Pier 1 today. Do anyone think I should put another accent color in this room..maybe something on my fireplace??

This clock is too high for next to my loveseat...I have stairs behind it.
    @Manuel08 ,I didn't see any stairs ! I only saw a corner that needed something ,
I know it is confusing. I still have nothing for my corner but found the table at Wicker to put next to loveseat.
I think that corner definitely needs something with good height - screen w floor lamp as Kelly suggested early on or large. tall plant, etc..
What do you think of this left square table, it is a nice big one but couldn't find it in white.
    last modified: 13 years ago
i think it looks just fine. Plus i feel this table will serve you elsewhere too whenever you do redecorate.. Lets see what others say..
btw there is another approach that struck me right now, just to achieve the effect/look you want, (idk if anyone has recommended it above or not), your wall is quite wide so you can always add vertical / portrait style mirrors (or mirrored panel) on either side of painting and get the long/vertical effect you desire for your corner.. infact anything on the walls..
Do you think this vase looks good or better with something else in it.
    last modified: 13 years ago
It's doesn't need anything in it. Over time, you can add few items like that on the center table around it (say, in white & 1-2 in lime green/yellow, of varying heights but not anything as tall as your vase).. no flowers/plants needed..

What can I add or change to this fireplace. The mirror is new but want to know what to lay on the fireplace?
