I need help choosing a tile for my swimming pool

I ahve a mediterrean style home. The pool is quite large with an infinity waterfall feature. Much of current tile that was installed when the pool was constructed has fallen off and got discolored. It is small sheet tile. I want to make sure this doesn't happen again

Go to a local tile distibutor and talk to them about the products they sell for pools and explain what has happened in the past. They will also be able to help you select color as they do it all the time.

If you want to make sure the tile doesn't fall off again, you need to consult your local pool professional to determine why it happened in the first place, remedy the problem, and then replace the tile.

It is important to know where you live and if your area has freeze/ thaw conditions. This will determine what kind of tile to use. Regarding the issue that the tile fell off, it sounds like it was not installed correctly in the first place. When you have this work done, check references and ask about how they install tile. MY POOL IS OVER 30 YEARS OLD TILES ARE STARTING TO COME OFF, DO I NEED TO REPLACE THEM WITH TILES OR CAN I JUST REPAINT THE INSIDE OF THE POOL

Kathy, you are talking about 2 different areas of your pool it seems. When people talk about painting their pool it is usually regarding the area that is usually plastered. I don't know how large of an area you are referring to either. No matter if your pool is fully tiled or just at the waterline area, you should replace the tile. Regarding your re-painting remark, we highly discourage painting a pool as it simply does not last and becomes an maintenance nightmare. You are far better off having the paint removed and applying a quality plaster coat.
