And I agree. YoOu need a much lighter paint color or you'll find yourself drowing in a sea of gray.

You can't go wrong with either Revere Pewter or Edgecomb Gray, but paint samples on a few walls and look at them at different times of day to see which you prefer.

Since you will wind up with a sea of gray, and you have such a dark sofa, consider replacing the gray curtains with something light with some of the same colors as your pillows and side chair--white background with touches of gray, lime, or red.

A lot of great thoughts here! I'd agree that you should probably choose a lighter, warmer shade of gray. A gray with blue instead of brown in it will clash with your furnishings and carpet. The two colors that you have on the wall are a little dark and are too close in shade to the carpet you have, maybe one wall can be a dark gray if you love that accent, otherwise I'd say warm light gray for all walls.

Either curtains or pillows should have some combination of white, gray, lime, and brown. Look for fabrics in similar bold patterns and colors as these pillows:

Later, if you're going for a coffee table, go for something light--no more brown and gray--maybe glass or see thru to balance out heaviness of sofa and the carpeting.

Yikes. You cannot trust colors selected over the internet. You really need to have someone look at the color in person next to the carpet. My advice is to go with a lighter color than the one you selected and tested on the wall. You need some contrast between the paint and carpet. The room will be too dark.

Steeple gray doesn't look like a cool gray to me. In fact, it looks like almost the exact same hue as your carpet. This is a pretty close approximation to what it will look like in your room. (I used your actual painted swatch to paint your walls.)

I'd go way lighter.

That is way too much dark gray.......I agree that it would look better going much lighter.
