Correct. it is a long standing problem with them which is why here we always recommend dealing with them. ;-) Just as we say do not use the manual either.

You got the right part. USDA tested and approved for use with that canner, used by many of us for years.

I thought you said you already bought it? 50332, the 3 part part pressure regulator (aka 5-10-15 lb weights) , is the correct part number but do not order it from Presto as you will only get more of the hassle from them. They do not want to sell it because they want you to have to pay to have the gauge tested by them annually. Plus they charge more for it. It is available from numerous places online and is cheapest from amazon or ACE hardware.

Thank you, Dave. I feel better now. The reason I called Presto in the first place was; I have a 20 year old stainless pressure cooker model 0135001. I lost the pressure regulator a long time ago and would like to start using it again. I wanted to know if I could use the 50332 regulator on the pressure cooker as well as the 23 qt pressure canner. The rep told me I bought the wrong regulator for the pressure canner, and she and she also told me that I could not use the 50332 regulator for my old pressure cooker. She told me I needed 09978 for the pressure cooker. I am not going to buy this regulator until I am sure. I sensed she didn't know what she was talking about, and it turns out, she didn't.

No the weights are interchangeable IF you change the vent pipe on the old cooker first. That model came with 2 different vent pipes so it depends on which yours has. If it looks just like the one on your new canner then no need to change it.
