Try various shades of cream or even some shade of taupe. I concur with the above comments about the chair. If that is removed from the corner and a rug and/or coffee table is added, it will help open the space a little more and create more fluidity within the room.

I Would go grey. Paint the brick darker grey or black Also.

Beige/Grey tones would be a nice update; great idea to bring a sample/drawer of kitchen stain, grab fabric/armcover from your sofa and chair as well and bring to the paint store. Nice, welcoming room!

I would pick up on the tan that is in some of the bricks. I like neutrals to be bold...here is a nice tan..a shade a little lighter would work well too!

Please void grays. They are so depressing! And your kitchen cabinets are not anything close to a cool color. Tan, beige, off white anything but grays.

I haven't had a chance to read comments, so not sure where things stand with paint/color choices. I just wanted to say that I really love your brick fireplace, and the blue goes well with the brick. The nice thing about a color like the pastel blue that you have now - is that it really offers the visual effect of more space. The light/sage sort of greens do this, as well. With the blue that you currently have, you could bring in accessories - like maybe charcoal grey pillows, for example - to bring in a different feel with the light blue. You can really change a lot of the dynamic of the space with various accessories, etc. You can Google living rooms with light blue/pastel blue walls, etc. to see various decorating ideas. Just another option. Best wishes.

I don't think the blue is your problem. The brick needs to go as well as the red stripe on your barstools. Why not paint the fireplace white, keep the blue and go from there. Pick a rug for your couch, the blue looks good in there
