Well take heart, gray has even less life than beige, so you're better off than you would have been if you got your wish.

A monochrome space, especially in a bathroom can be very spa like. Relax, it will be fine.

Its going to look great! Beige will actually bring out the pretty accessories in the bathroom. You can decorate with some artificial plants and flowers.

I love browns and beiges over grays myself, and think it will be lovely, but not sure it makes sense to introduce gray as well. I do think that adding some darker brown accents or wall color will make it feel richer and give the room some depths. the walls are already finished in a sherwin williams color...tame teal...so I can't change that. I was definitely planning on more gray when I selected it. My tile does have some gear in it, but it's primarily the creamy beige with gray & white mixed in. I thought in black accents or dark bronze colors. I thought a picture of a sunrise or sunset at the beach would be good to bring in some warmer colors too. I'm thinking of wooden white medicine cabinets or either a beveled edge frame less medicine cabinet. There's supposed to be a tower cabinet on my vanity placed between the sinks.

The tile is pretty. Maybe it's the paint that's not giving the tile any life. If you can make a decision to change that you may see the room come to life the way you envisioned.

Not sure that paint was the right color, and why would you paint before tiling?

I like the main tile, but am not wild about the deco tile. It does not seem to work with anything else very well. I am not sure that is the right paint color, but if you love it with the rest of the stuff, then you should keep it.

my contractor chose to paint first. I'm with you on the deco tile. It's just not coming together. :( too much money invested already to change that.

With that said, are you sure your contractor is doing the waterproofing correctly in the shower? I might post the shower pic in the bathroom forum to get some pro opinions.

As the materials in the space are on the beige/warm side; you should think about changing out the white/gray counter top. Pick something that is warmer in tone and could still be OK with the cabinet.

I think the problem is its such a mix of warm and cool. I think the tile is fine minus the deco trim. Its the paint color that is off. Id omit the deco trim and change the paint color to a warm ivory ie White Dove by Benjamin Moore. That alone will do wonders and everything will blend well. Cant comment on counter since I dont see pic of it but could you do just a more solid color white or ivory tile vs a busy granite? I afraid it may clash with the tile. If u stick with the tile, warm ivory paint, and simple counters then you have a world of options for final touches/decor.

Well I've had the installer remove the deco. He agreed with all of us: it did nothing for the tile. It's better already. I'll post more pics as progress is made. thanks to everyone that has given me input on this project.

I agree with smit2380 about the waterproofing - make sure it is being done / being done correctly - if not then you will be replacing all of your shower tile sooner than later

It's not 100% complete, but here's some updates of remodel. I'm going to post pictures in before & after. I pretty pleased with it so far.

The tile looks great. To me the blue paint seems to almost clash but if you love it then keep it!
