Honestly, I don't see a huge change between the drapes you want to purchase, and the ones you have hanging up right now. I think the effect will be basically the same. But if you like the pattern on the new drapes better, go for it. Either way, your existing area rug seems to look great. What about using a nice cream on the walls? That would bring some freshness to the space. I think if you mix in some touches of soft coral into the space, you'd have a lovely, fresh look which would balance your darker floors and furniture. Or if you really want to change the area rug, go for something light that contains a few soft colours you can coordinate with. Have you done some Houzz searching to try out different colour schemes?
