On The Hunt

Hi everyone,

How has accomplishing your wish/want lists gone this year? I gained a few new ones, but, sadly, I lost my multiflora/javanica right after it bloomed. There's only two I'm sort of wanting, but lacking space lol. Would like to find cv. Sunrise and cv. Mathilde., but not much other than that (unless I miraculously find a String of Hearts out there somewhere).

I have cv. Mathilde. Not enabling or anything...;)

I only have a couple on my wish list:

patella, Mike Bernardo's sibling hybrid of cv. Hotlips, hamiltoniorum (wait list for that) and nyhuusiae

Greenhouse, just shoot me a message once you find out :). That String of Hearts is tempting, but way too overpriced lol.

Aurora, I'll message you ;). Good luck finding your Hoyas!

It is pretty steep. :/ I'll keep my fingers crossed that you find someone who might be able to send a cutting! :)

My wish list for this summer still includes: H. caudata (Sumatra if I can find it, but they are all so nice), H. sp ns 00-004, and H. walliniana.

I'll be in touch tonight after I get home to check out my cv. Sunrise! :)

Sounds good, Greenhouse! Good luck finding yours, too!

Aurora, message me. I can't seem to find the message option on your page.

There are several string of hearts listed on ebay. I also saw some in Home Depot recently. Or it might have been Lowes? One of the big boxes anyway. So maybe keep a watch there.

Soobie, every time I look at Lowe's or HD, which isn't that often since we don't have them in town, they don't have it. I'll see Hoyas from time to time, but no String of Hearts. I don't use Ebay, either.

I've had a crazy Hoya summer. I lost almost all of my Thailand plants which was sort of unavoidable because I unexpectedly spent most of the month of July travelling back and forth to Harrisburg and couldn't give them the attention they needed. :(

However, I did pick up some really nice ones. I got a caudata, an elliptica, an annulata and a globulosa (which turned out to be surprisingly low maintenance). Plus, some of my tiny starter plants took off, especially Pink Dragon, diversifolia and obscura, so it wasn't a Greek tragedy after all.

I'm also yearning for a Mathilde. Happy hunting!

    Brad,

I just saw a Hoya Sunrise at Adenium Rose dot com for $9.97. I've bought from this vendor and her plants are healthy and well established. Good luck.

Hi Gloria, I will keep that in mind. My garden fund is a little low, so that's why I was asking around for a cutting.

I have acquired quite a few plants off my wish list this summer. The only thing I'm still on the hunt for is H. Parasitica Varigata (which I just missed off ebay) and H. Sp. Gunung gading borneo. Although of course I always spot more for my wish list off ebay, just saw a beautiful Hoya Golden Eye, which I've never seen, but I hesitate to order anything from Thialand.
