Lordy, lordy, why do contractors put electrical panels and thermostats in the most awkward places? Still, I'd rather see the panel painted the same color as the wall than the too-large baker's rack there.

So let's return to the curtain idea. I would choose natural linen again, and hang panels high and wide, narrow enough to cover the edges of the window casings, wide enough to hang straight to the floor. Avoid hanging any wall art or decor in narrow spaces like the wall in the corner. Anything you hang on the wall should have plenty of room to breath and should never look squished between other elements like window casings or doors.

Ikea has some super affordable white cotton panels. 57 wide, 96 or 118 long. They are thick and hang well; 25 or 35 bucks a set. Get the kind that thread thru the pole, not the grommet kind.
