I feel the color green would have to be a very deep rich color to work with grays. A teal or turquoises would work. More in the blue green family. Green plants shouldn't be considered as part of a color scheme. Add them to bring much needed life to the room. Adding a faux large plant on top of the china cabinet would look nice.

Hi Kevin! I got the lambs ear and I like it, just having a hard time getting it to look right. Here is the latest.

Well it looks nice in the bowl. What are you doing with the other 2 bowls ? I thought you were filling them all. Maybe you should try taking one of the smaller bowls and turn it upside down and using it under the planted one as a stand to raise it up higher , You could use floral putty or something to hold the bowls together. Then put the candle holders & tapers out with it. If you have any chair fabric left you could fold the edges under a piece and scrunch it up under all the things for a display look. Maybe that would work.

Do you have chair fabric left ? if you do you could make a diamond shaped 3'x2' matt to place under your center piece. You can use stitch witchery that is a iron on seaming tape. I love using it all you have to do is cut and Iron.
That would give more of a visual size, then the candles for height that is needed to. Or if you had a pair of birds to use with the candles & bowl or something with a pair that could be used to have 5 small things grouped to give a larger feel. Even white rose petals sprinkled across the table with the lambs ear & candles. You just need more if your going to use small things. I feel . Do you have a raised cake plate that you could sit the bowl on top of ? I'm just trying to think of things you might have that would work.

There is that stuff you hang posters on the wall with that's like putty that I have used to make pedestals from different dishes. I just can't think of the name of it.

You could add some branches 12"-16"s high in the middle of the lambs ear to add just a bit more texture.

I love the inverted bowl under the larger bowl to give the height and size.

OK I would take out 1 place setting on each shelf and center the rest on each door. Put the extra 2 settings in storage. Then I would put the candle opera in the china on the bottom shelf in the center.

What do you think about us painting the mirror Martha Stewart's metallic silver to go with the bowls and candles?

Then I would take the goblets and group them on each side bottom on the 2 side door openings.

I could see doing the silver but I would go over it then with a black or dark brown shoe polish to rub in to the grooves and polish it off to make it look more antiqued and show up the design a bit.

You could use that white runner in side the bottom shelf of the china cabinet to add white to the bottom shelf because it looks dark on the bottom shelf to me.

Well I'm glad your happy with the table now. So play in the china cabinet and send a pic when your done. Also it would be nice to have a fern or long dangling faux plant on one side of the very top of the china cabinet and a 8"-12" high stack of books with the 1 left over bowl set on top of them on the other end to add color. Also to get some height & interest up there .

Yes a glaze would be good. I would go black, lightly . It would look nice with all of the grays. Every room needs some black to balance the colors in all rooms.

Glad I can help, here's a plant stand from walmart.com for $25. that would look great with the gray marble top to replace the TV stand. You could put a plant on it or your candle opera with some very tall tapers in it. You could paint out the brass on the stand to silver to match the mirror. Then it would look custom & even more expensive.

Of course it's pretty just like it is. I love tight budgets it makes it more fun. lol

Yes it looks nice, The pic is blurring out the center upper shelf a bit. You could use 3 plates on each shelf centered on each door. You might have. But the candelabra looks good with out the candles. I feel it really looks better a bit more decorative looking with out just being for storage. Good job !

A little pointer , if you have unlit tapers out lite them for a few seconds just to leave a black tip on them instead of the long unlit wick. It just a little touch to make it look nicer.

A fern like this would be nice on the plant stand or top of china, This one is $50 at walmart, but Hobby lobby or Michaels have sales at 50% off for the same thing.
