I'm in a panic. My husband wants me to pick stain color for the new cedar siding that will be replaced on the front of our house by next week! We were wondering if we could somehow break up the sameness of the body of the house and possibly add some color. We've replaced the driveway, and are replacing our lawn with lava rock beds and flagstone pathways and plantings.

We are in the process of changing the gutters, probable to brown, to match the windows (?). We will then paint the eaves and facia, brown (?) Our siding needs to be replaced because the previous owner put it on upside down and it has deteriorated badly.

The garage door was recently replaced and will be painted as part of the project.

The concrete color is new and will fade, hopefully. I was surprised by the color of the walkway, and toned the driveway down to brownish. I am concerned by all of the different colors of the hardscape. We'll just have to work with what we have now. Ugh... That's why I need your help :)

You can't see my front door! My house is all garage! I think a solar tube at the entry would brighten up the space nice. Facing the house, on the right, will be a rock fountain/bubbler, there is a small planter on the left.

We have a "nursery" of trees to plant in the yard, a multi-stem Crepe Myrtle, Cedrus Deodora "Feeling Blue", Japanese Maple "Emerald Lace", and the big boy (maybe not?) Aesculus cornea "Fort McNair", and my favorite, Sergeants Weeping Hemlock, might be an idea for the large planter.

We appreciate your ideas and suggestions. I'm sorry, I don't know how to edit photo's to place in order.
