I would keep the curves, there are a lot of other curves in the house. Start with a smaller mirror to fit better in the space, then new vanity top, but keep the curve detail, it's not a bad thing.

I would SO keep the curves! They "belong" to your home! BUT, with that said.....I would think about tiling the walls with your carrara marble and use a smaller tile that compliments it like maybe something like this in the curves but place linearly. Did I just make up a word? :) I think the "sheets" of tile would wrap nicely.

I love the walls just the way they are. If you want to update with marble, I would suggest doing the floor and vanity top in the marble and replace the vanity sink.

I would leave the curves; they are a unique detail of Spanish style house. I would address the floors, vanity and mirror to update, and do so with materials that complement the style of the home. A modern pedestal stink, and repair of the plaster that would be affected by the removal of the vanity cabinet, would look good in this size room. Tile could be run from the floor up the sink/toilet wall about half way of the wall. This could be done without have to turn the corners. The edges would be framed with a listello or a metal strip (that's barely visible)to hold the edge of the tile in place.

Those curves cost extra no doubt. I agree to leave the curves.

Do not remove the curves anywhere. They are part of the expensive character of your home. You could use the smaller tiles noted above, but why not consider the wonderful paint finishes available now? Metallics and suedes, etc. As this is only a powder room, it does not get steamy. Save the marble tile for the larger bathrooms and make this a jewel box. New sink with quartz countertop? Maybe even a pedestal sink?

Love you home. It has beautiful detail. Cherish those details. Please don't force the home into something it is not. I agree the sunflowers have to go, but there are other alternatives.

The mirror frame is much too heavy. And agree to switch out the tiles. I'd rather see a soft white for the walls - but keep the texture and curves! Devalue the house if that's altered.
