Looks like my Cylindrica but mine is very small. Sorry not much help.

My cylindrica doesn't have those deep channels in the leaves like that. I'm thinking something else, but I don't know what.

Yes, I was under the impression that the S. Cylindrica comes with perfectly cylindrical leaves. I'm not sure what this is; perhaps there are cylindricas with deep channeled leaves or perhaps this is an entirely different cultivar.

It seems to be S. Stuckyi.

Stuckyi does have that channel, but what about the sheath at the leaf base - it looks maroon. That must be a clue.

Liberyx; I think you're spot on. I have studied every single picture of S. Bacularis I can find online and it sure has a striking resemblance. I'm pretty sure my plants are Bacularis.

I'm looking at the mix, not the plant, seems rather peaty looking from here & rather fine particles.

If mine, I'd add at least 50% perlite or pumice to that mix.

It's definitely bacularis, the purple leaf sheaths are typical of the species. In spite of no apparent aggregate in the mix, it's doing very well and looks perfectly healthy. It's either a testament to the hardiness of sansevierias, or you've got the watering and light down pat. Or maybe some of both.

Thank you for your comments regarding the mix and for confirming that the plants are S. Bacularis. I bought the mix in the store, it's labeled "cacti and succulent soil" and is a fast draining mix with alot of sand in it. The Sans seem to thrive in it; I've yet to loose a plant to overwatering and rot.

I always say, if you're having success with the mix you're using, stay with it. There are as many 'perfect mixes' as there are growers, I think it's good to experiment with ingredients and proportions, but in the final analysis it's whatever works best for you and your growing conditions.

By the way, bacularis was called sulcata prior to the name change. I prefer sulcata since there were likely erroneous assumptions on which the change was based. I disagree with other name changes as well for the same reasons.

Since it's a species, leaf cuttings will propagate true.
