This is my Kuri squash that I harvested, AKA Hokkaido squash. I had not heard of Kuri before, but was given some seeds. Some of them have these hard growths on them - see photo below. I've looked at photos of these squash on the internet and it does not seem that these are the type of squash that should have these warts. Does anyone know what causes it and if the growths affect the ability to store them?
