There were over the w/d shelves sold where I bought my appliances...advertised as being a place to fold clothes. I would check with furniture/appliances stores and see if they have any to offer.

Great idea about choosing a sheet of laminate. Also, should you determine there is enough time to order one, ask around at the big box stores or call a local laminate countertop fabricator. Sometimes the lead time is not too bad. Best wishes with your project!

Instead of face banding the plywood, I would use wood trim slightly proud of the plywood to protect the edge of the laminate.

Does anyone know of any furniture pads out there or other solutions, specifically for stool and chair legs, that don’t collect dog hair around the sticky edges? It’s driving me crazy that all my chair legs have hair stuck to them at the bottom that you manually have to remove!

My laundry room layout is very similar to your middle photo. Because I only needed two relatively small pieces, I took the measurements to a local fabricators yard and asked to look at their “offcuts”. These are slab remnants left over from other jobs. I found a lovely quartz that worked well in my room and was not expensive. You could try doing the same.

I have the same dilemma plus I need to be able to remove the countertop to service my front loaders so it can’t be very heavy when it’s finished. I was thinking about applying LVT to maple plywood. I need to fill a 30x70 area but only need 1 side finished.

Corian comes 30" wide and plastic laminate up to 60" wide. Do not forget the center support panel as shown in the pictures please. The machines are able to be installed and serviced without removing the top.
