KO seeds showing early variagation

I have a tray of seeds that I recently sowed from KO. Of the 15, six have differing levels of variagation.

Some have white leaf borders only, and the highest amount is shown here. Last two sets of leaves all show it, and I planted another type of seed in the same material at the same time, and they look normal.

Yay for you!!! I have a couple of varieties I have planted from KO that come from variegated crosses myself. I am eager to see if any of them show varigation. They did throw several 'white' albinos that I have managed to keep alive so far. As they are starting to put out their second sets of tiny mature leaves, I have spotted the first baby with what appears to be variegated leaves. I am excited! Good luck to you on yours!

Are these seeds other than the grow out? Awesome if you get red multi petal AND varigation;)

i wanted to know more about ur otting mix, can u share? I just do coco peat for sprouting seeds but see a lot of folks use other media, so keen to know in case you made it:)

My mix is just miracle gro potting soil 2:1 with pine bark.

I'm using very similar. 1/2 Miracle Grow potting mix with 1/2 perlite, and some sharp sand added for grit. With repotting I'm adding a touch of worm casings and a little more perlite to ease my seedlings one step at a time towards a faster drying mix.

Yes Shimolee, these are another type. The parents of this batch are both yellows.

Hyn, I really like the potting soil mix. I couldn't possibly use the gritty here. Even with my 1" trays of water, my pots are dry on top in one day if it's sunny. At that point, the core is still moist, but not wet.

Aye, it's pretty hot here too and for 5+ months we had no rain through spring and summer. But recently we hit hurricane season so ... with a big tropical storm due here this weekend I'll just bring them in!

Overall picture of the tray taken September 16, 2016 - sown August 5th, 2016

This is the plant showing the strongest variagation. It is also the largest, and has huge stem growth compared to others. Same water, light etc. so it's pure genetics.

This one is a bit blurry, but this one has 4 cotyledons and is now starting to branch at each one! (you can see 3)

This one has already branched!
