Hello! These shutter stays are typically meant for installing into wood (3 wood screws are provided). We also have offer shutter stays that have a lag mount option (this would install with one larger lag screw - see item SD2). This would be the better option for installing into vinyl, and anchoring into a solid structure behind the vinyl siding. Let us know if we can answer any other questions or concerns. :)
