Not the most reliably winter hardy for zone 5, I doubt it would survive in a container on the porch (unless it was heated). I'd either plant in the ground or sink the pots in the ground over winter in an area that receives some protection and drains well.

Grosso is one of the larger growing forms of lavandin, so not surprising it will require a larger container for next season :-)
