I have a double, dark wood Bombay glass fronted bookcase and square table as well as an Indian carpet in the living room, which I would like to keep. However, I would like to update this "look". The lamps are also a Bombay style with beaded lampshades. There is not enough light. I would like to update the look without it being a jarring contrast between too modern and the colonial Indian style.
