Edible Landscape

Arizona - ideas for edible landscape?

I live in Arizona and wanted to do some edible landscaping but I am not sure where to start. We have a garden but have it well protected as we have a lot of rabbits, squirrels and birds that destroy it if it is not covered. Any thoughts on where to begin in terms of edible landscape in AZ that the critters won't steal.

You can plant some semi-desertic plants.....such as Date Palm, Prickly Pear, Olives, Ficus, Pomegranate, Carub..if you have water you could also try some Citrus
