I was going to say that I couldn't see any bleeding on the veins and then noticed the leaf on the bottom left...

I see some suspicious leaves. I'd test it. There's one at about 4 o'clock, too.

too little water.. and too much sun .. may look better in same sun with more water ... the color change is what this plant does ... genetic on some level ...

i see that one leaf at 7 pm .... but i THINK... is not a green stain.. but more of the white taking over a green leaf ... if that makes sense ...

my gut tells me ... chris can correct me ... its kinda late in the season for hvx to just be appearing.. i would have expected it to have shown much earlier in the season ....not just when the plant is starting to decline.. due to seasonal changes ...

but i dont know.. correct me if i am wrong ...

ken

I agree with Pieter, and Ken's diagnosis - the above photos remind me also of my own Paul's Glory (new at the time) looking very similar...at about the same time, a couple years ago.

I also agree with Pieter and Ken looks like too much sun too

Did a walk-about today and thought I'd share my Paul's Glory - heading towards dormancy and this is its last transitory colour for the end of the season from its much brighter hue earlier....other than turning various fall colours of orange.

Josephine, what hosta is to the left of Paul's Glory? I like those wide cream margins.

RP, that is Goodness Gracious - gets lots of sun but somehow manages to maintain its creamy/gold margin. An invincible hosta with the best substance you can find :-)
