Hello, I'm replacing the chandelier over my kitchen table. The kitchen itself is 20 x 24 ft but the table is in a corner that's about 9.5 x 9.5 ft. The table has a glass top and is an octagon shape, 42 inches in diameter. My choices are a three light, 18 inch diameter chandelier or the same fixture with five lights and a 24 inch diameter. Guidelines I've read suggest 1/2 the diameter of the table, with the option of going slightly bigger or smaller depending on the visual weight of the chandelier. That puts me at 21 inches, give or take. I'm not sure if my selection has a light or heavy visual weight. Please help me decide, 18 inches or 24 inches. Here are pictures of both.
