Benjamin Moore paint is my fav as is their color deck/samples. The historical colors are just the best!!! I use White dove on so many projects, always a great choice.

I hope you went with Pure White. I have it now on my trim and love it. Some sunny areas and some darker. I had White Dove in our last house and it was too "creamy".

I'm trying to decide same thing - for color in our Master. Any additional feedback would be so appreciated!

I have used White Dove for ceiling color in several rooms in my previous home, and it was great. Not yellowish at all, and I had very dark brazilian floors which could make everything look yellowish.

Curious what you deciding. I have the exact same question. I want to make sure my white pops. Would love to know your thoughts. :)

‘Decided’

I love SW Alabaster & Benjamin White Dove for interior and can't decide. Not a lot of natural light and don't want it to look yellowish......thoughts?

After research I choose SW pure white on my trim in a north facing living room.. (I only had SW colors to choose from) During the day it reads a clean, cheery bright white. Even in the evening light it's still pretty white.

Trying to decide the same - have a sample board for Pure White and it feels a bit bright white. I’d like something just a touch less white, but that doesn’t go too far into cream as I have a lot of white tile in the house and don’t want to compete with that!

Our "trim" that pure white is used, was on 2 north facing bay window seats in an early 60's ranch style home. They get light from outside reflected during the day. In the evening, they are either covered by curtains or the Indoor warm lighting is reflected in them. It still reads pretty white. In comparison the white that is on the walls looks more dirty (depressing) in comparison to the pure white bay window trim. (Not sure the color on the walls, they will happily be repainted soon. Color yet to be decided.) Of course, these are very specific circumstances and variables. If it helps anyone.

I was also considering alabaster, which is described as just a touch less bright white then pure white. That probably would of worked great also, possibly even a little better. ( I don't have BM close by or white dove might of been good) but I'm not angry with pure white.

It is difficult to ask someone about color is good without asking them what the room is facing, north, south, east or west and what interior fixed items and other colors they have in their home. If you just ask about the color without asking about the other things, you could make the wrong decision. Plus a brighter white looks better with certain colors. And, you have to look at color choices you are making to go with trim color. If someone says Alabaster is the best white and you pair an off white color on trim that brings out the pink undertones of a color you have on a wall it could throw your whole room color off.

Pure white SW bears no yellow undertone; White Dove BM can in the right light and competes with, say, a white comforter. It is beautiful, but can rear that its yellow.

Thank you! I’ve been trying to figure out why I loved my kitchen cabinets so much! They are creamy without being creamy at all and I love them! But next to my SW pure white they are different. I prefer the BM as it has a depth to me personally. Appreciate your feedback after all this time😜

What color are your walls?

I have a similar question. My bedroom walls, trim, doors, etc. are SW Pure White and one of the ceilings are BM ceiling paint ultra flat white (some rooms face N and others face S). It's my understanding that I should go with a warm white ceiling paint versus cool. Any suggestions on ceiling paint? I'm open to all and even the BM or SW white paint straight out of the can (without tint). Thoughts? Thanks.

I painted my ceiling flat pure white; cabinets and trim Pure white satin; and my walls Edgecomb gray flat. My ceiling looks amazing. Just a nice gentle white from Sherwin Williams. Use the HEX scale to compare generic white to, say, Pure White by SW. Generic white will appear to be starker.

White Dove, although beautiful, could show its yellow undertone.

Walls were SW requisite gray in this home. Tons of light & they change as the day and seasons go. Probably one of my all time favorite cards in the SW fan deck! I’ve used every one of them (less windows & light would do better w lighter obvi) More drama in dining room mean going darker.

Here’s a great example of accessible beige in library foreground, then color card w requisite gray in foyer & 1-2 shades darker in dining room of this same home. Photography retouched so color seems to show up a little warmer on here unfortunately. Regarding whites, I’ve used SW pure white on ceilings and love it for the light it gives & I too believe it’s just a true white. Obvi, stay away from anything close to ceiling white. It’s made for poor contractor work so it gives high hide to imperfections by casting an ugly, flat gray tone similar to cement.

*last thing of note - dining room tray ceiling is a silver color (can’t remember name)

I love the colors in your home! I’m in the process of getting all new windows installed. Stained wood to all white. I’m painting all my trim and baseboards but not sure what color white. I began using Dover White which I like. Will the Dover White look ok next to the new white windows? Im going to paint the downstairs walls accessible beige flat. Your ceilings are pure white? Cabinets DW? Please clarify

SW Pure White for all trim, cabinets, doors, and ceilings. BM Edgecomb Grey for walls. Front door is black, fixed windows are black, and no fixed windows are white inside the house.
