Beautiful colors! i had my ottoman recovered in a teal velvet with nailhead trim. I love it. (i love yours too. where did you find it?) A magenta or fuchsia velvet would be quite a statement with either a gold or silver nailhead. you could also do the aqua shade as well if you want to tone it down. I like either one.

If you are keeping the wood legs, make sure those are done first (they need to be re-stained and finished) or consider painting them).

Yes, I was planning on doing nailheads as well! I found the ottoman at a vintage furniture shop this past weekend! I went to look at another piece the store had and then found this tucked under a dining room table and fell in love! The leather is in really good condition but red just isn't my color. And thanks for the tip about the legs! Not sure yet if I'll refinish or paint...

My only thought about doing the ottoman in the pink is if/when I get a rug. If I get a rug with color in it, would that be too much? I have taupe carpet in my living room right now but I want a rug to better define the space. I love my curtains but they're such a large geometric pattern. I have six panels in my living room, so I'm having difficulty finding stuff to coordinate/balance them.

I had the same problem with my ottoman. As you can see, it's bright. The pink will be the same for you.

As it is now, I got rid of that gray rug above and went with a black/gray/white. Between the flooring and ottoman, I had to be careful with what I chose. I think I went through 4 rugs before I settled on this one! So yes, if you go w/the pink, everything else will have to be toned down a bit. But it will be gorgeous! (for sure redo the legs either way otherwise it won't match the new top!)

The fuchsia/magenta velvet would look amazing on those chairs! Have the ottoman recovered in a linen colored leather, which would be durable and look great. That helps you have more leeway with the rug also.
