How fun!!! I was given an iced tea gallon jar the spigot leaked. I was thinking of adding lights to it like this. Would make a pretty night light. LOVE the bulbs in them too. I do not have any other than glass gems and it would take a pile of them to fill a gallon container. Hummm what to use. Thanks for sharing this. Going to try this.

I just thought of some thing. How big are the battery packs? Wonder if they would fit down through a decanter opening? I put those decanters on my white cabinet in the master. It would be gorgeous with lights in them. Hummmm.

The battery pack is 3"x3-1/2"x1". It is too big for any of the openings we had, so the wire in the grape jar just runs down the back of the jar and the battery pack sits on the table. It uses 3 AA batteries and the remote can make it do all kinds of "twinkling" including one setting that makes it go through all of them. It's like having a discotheque on the plant shelf!! :)

The tea jar would work great for this!! You can feed the lights through the hole and just keep the battery pack outside the jar.

It's hard to see but we put a wine stopper in the top of the grape jar.

That would be great to try. will have to find some battery pack lights. Or I guess if I fed the lights in the hole I could just use the Christmas lights and plug them in.

Those are neat. I've always wanted to make something like that but was afraid to drill the hole.

Shades, the Christmas lights can get really hot. My friend told me to use only LED lights.

Missouribound, if you have the drill and bit, give it a try. Find an inexpensive bottle to try it the first time. It helped that the bottle was not round. That would squirm a lot. Doing it in the water was definitely the way to go.
