Is the pattern on this chair too loud?

Thoughts on the pattern on this chair? To go in a living room with a gray sectional.

I think so, it will be the center of attention and nothing should stand out so vividly, unless maybe it's the rug that anchors the room together. Just my opinion.

There is nothing wrong with using colors or patterns, but I am not a fan of this chair. You can find something much better!

Ryan, I understand what you are saying. Probably what I should have said is that I also didn't like the pattern on this chair. It speaks volumes and that was my point!

That would not be my choice, but if you like it, then design the room around it.

Thanks everyone for your opinions. I tend to like a pop of yellow, but was worried this would be too much (and now i know...it is). I'm trying to compromise with my husband he doesn't want to lose his la-z-boy so i'm scrolling through the custom patterns that they offer. Any suggestions on how we can both win in this situation? I like this type of furniture arrangement, but he's not going to like chairs that are more about design than comfort.

Maybe I should just go to the la-z-boy store and try to find a sectional with the reclining piece then i can get whatever accent chairs i want.

um. no. don't do that. because then you'll have this vast amount of sectional that has the lines of a recliner. buy a recliner if one is needed but make it visually quiet, laid back... in a room of slimmer furnishings that are more eye catching.

Definitely very Loud . The Fabric seems to be Printed which makes it so overwhelming. This Pattern would however look stunning if it is Crewel Embroidered . We could do a sample for you . Let us know , info@sdfabrics.com

O.k. So pattern aside would you consider this recliner visually quiet? The one in my original post.

recliners are always on the chubby side (i guess thats why they are so comfortable. ) if the rest of your furnishing are similar in height but slimmer in weight, and less retiring in color, you'll probably do ok.

and what color for the recliner? and how tall is the recliner compared to the sectional?

I don't know what color for the recliner i'm trying to go patterned but if i go with this recliner it will have to be from la-z-boys custom patterns available. the sectional is 34 height and the recliner is 42 body height.

here is the link to the recliner where one can scroll through the patten choices.

Because recliners can feel bulky, the best bet may to just go with a neutral so it sort of fades into the décor. Have fun with pillows instead. Cream and grey is a nice combination as well.

    Hello

I would go with a neutral recliner but I will say I recently did a beautiful deep navy recliner that looked nice in a neutral space. From there you can add your yellows with decor accents and pillows.

    Best of luck !

Thanks everyone. I took my husband browsing for furniture and he agreed that he could deal with a chaise lounge on the end of the sectional instead of a recliner. So now I can pick out any accent chairs I want. We are a ways off from finalizing our furniture so i plan to take my time to find what i love.
