Help with gigantic mirror!!

We inherited this very ornate and very gigantic mirror with our house. The scale works well in the space, but the mirror doesn't match our style. I was wondering if a coat of paint would help?

Getting a new light fixture is on the list too- so thoughts are also appreciated there!

yes you can get a paint (spray) that has an antique silver look to it or distressed if you will that would soften it a lot. you could go all the way silver but its abit ornate so an aged look wouldnt have everyone knowing you hit it with a rattle can lol

about the light fixture, you can hang it a little higher because you have a higher ceiling. get something with more balanced weight to it as well. i felt a modern look

HI -- When people leave things behind for you ... it is not a gift .... they just couldn't get rid of it themselves . Not your style , then sell it . If you paint it is it going to be your style then ?? Do not burden yourself with something that is not to your liking . Just because it was left in the house does not make it important .
