I don't care for either in there, but I would choose Anonymous over the other if I had to pick. I'd go lighter and creamier.

You can't really see what the colors are when they are painted on top of the red wall. You need to paint the samples all the way to the wainscoting and then put big white poster boards around the tops and sides so you don't get any red reflections. I think a light color with a hint of green would look great with your wood though.

I don't like the two colors you've painted.

First, should i assume you like lighter colors? Do you want something different but bold? If you want a bit more distinctive get a couple samples and put on foam type poster boards. Then you can move them around the space and get better perspective on what the light in your space does to the color. There are a couple colors i would try. SW Tea Chest. Medium to dark brown that looks rich with your woods. Or, for light warm color SW Accessible Beige. A color i love with your wood is SW 6964 Pulsating Blue. I will post rooms with colors to show you affects.

Walls and floors go nicely together. SW Accessible BeigeSo, you have to decide which color you might enjoy in this room. I assume it is somewhat separate from your other rooms? So, the sage greens blend very nicely with the oak woods you have, but the grays are cool color and they don't work well at all. Stay away from those. Get some samples and try something different and you might find one you fall in love with!

how about SW Loggia? i already have a sample can; i might try that + see how it looks in here? I think it has some green undertones....

Loggia is blah IMO

Accessible Beige is better color than Loggia IMO. Loggia has kind of pink undertones that probably won't work with your woods. You need to do sample boards. Doing samples on your red walls is not a good idea plus you can't see true colors due to that influence. If you want a nice off white to a creamy color Accessible Beige is your best bet.

so what kind of boards do I get to paint samples on? any inexpensive options?

I go to the Dollar Store and get packs of 2 8x10 boards. I can also get them at Hobby Lobby. The cost around $5-7 a package depending on quality. Or you can do on plain poster board, but it curls up some. Spend a little now on the samples boards, and save "gallons" of paint and labor later! By doing them on boards, rather than the wall, you can get the perspective on different walls in your room by moving the boards. And yes, with that deep red, you have to prime/or put some color killer coat of paint first to knock down the red bleeding through and affecting your new color. Trust me, it is very important.

I like Sea Salt and so does the design blog world. Our office is done in Sea Salt and it is quite blue in our lighting. We have oak desks and it looks good with them. Just try some out on a foam core board in your room, first. Sometimes it looks blue, sometimes green, sometimes grayer. It depends on your lighting. You'll have to see if you like whatever color it decides to be in your room.

Kris has good points here. In fact, the Sea Salt is a favorite, however it is basically cool in the color palette and your wood is definitely warm. So stick with warm color.

Also try Quincy Tan, Bleeker beige or Greenbriar all by BM.
