power lines

Hello,

I live in a twin home in the city. Our power lines go across the back of our houses. They are about 1 to 2 feet off the back brick across the full back of the house and continues across to all the houses.

My issue is.. the brick mortar directly underneath the power lines is falling apart and my back bedroom ceiling is getting water damage. I can fix myself if it wasn't within 1 foot of the power lines.

Do I need to call the power company to let them know I have this issue? or do I just call a brick pointer and see what they say?

I think I would call the brick pointer first. Anything the power company would do would have to be scheduled around the pointer's schedule for the most part. You probably won't get an answer you can trust over the phone.

There are uninsulated distribution power lines

And then there are power lines that are up close to the house that are generally insulated. (Service entrance cable)

I have had the power company provide a sleeve to protect the service entrance cable from possible construction damage before, but it is generally not necessary for light work. The bare neutral could potentially end up with a voltage difference to ground if something went wrong (probably unrelated to the brick work), so it would not hurt to check the neutral voltage and water the ground around the ground rod, or even ask the power company to lend you some sleeves just to be safe.

I would be surprised if hot uninsulated wires were exposed 1-2 ft from the brick wall of a house. I'm betting it looks like that last figure above, with the hot wires insulated.
