Electricians for our new house ran AL to both of our car chargers. This was fine for our old charger (2014 Tesla) that accepts AL but current ones are all CU.

Can I install a CU/AL outlet and then put a tail and plug on a charger that's otherwise meant for hardwire?

I think the alternative is to cut an access in to the attic space above, find the wire, install a large enough box for the CU/AL adapters, and then run a conduit down over the slatwall. I'd really rather not do all of that if I can avoid it.
