Chosing double wall oven

I narrowed my search for a double wall oven to the Ge cafe series and the kitchenaid . Although I love the look of the kitchenaid I did find really bad reviews on it. The appliance store I went to told me it is becoming popular and people are loving it . Not sure who to trust and what oven to go with . Any advise?

I have a GE Cafe electric range and it works just fine. The problem with reviews is that you can find bad reviews on any product, especially on the internet. The best advice I got was from my daughter when she renovated her kitchen--she asked an appliance REPAIRMAN what his experience was with certain appliance manufacturers. The sales people will tell you anything just to sell the product. He said that GE cooking appliances were a good brand, and she went with GE Monogram and loves it.

For reviews go to Consumer Reports. You don't have to subscribe, your library will have it. A good quality appliance store will give you the real scoop also, but not one that is pushing sales - I am lucky to have a trusted independent store to go to. And Diana is right that a decent repairman will also have good information.

I have a small catering biz and I have had a KA double wall oven electric with convection for 9+ yrs LOVE it it bakes evenly the fan is realitvly quiet it never heats up my kitchen even in the summer and I would buy it again. I always read reviews with a real look at why someone doesn’t like something , maybe they didn’t think about what they wanted, maybe they are just complainers . BTW I have never had a repair done on mine. When buying appliances you need to think what you want from them I have never bought all of them from one maker because there is no one that makes everything well so put some thought into what you need and get an appliance that meets those needs . That is why I like stainless it always matches

Reviews can be terribly confusing, including those from Consumer Reports. The best thing to do is shop for features you like vs. brand name. For what it's worth, not long ago a repair technician told me he gives high marks to KitchenAid.

And for perspective, I had a GE dishwasher that set my kitchen on fire a couple of months after purchase due to a defective computer board. GE's response was to offer me $100 coupon on my next GE purchase - yal right I'm going to buy another product from a manufacturer that almost killed my family. Apparently my insurance carrier went after GE, and thereafter the lawyers formed a class action - I apparently wasn't the only victim. Fast forward a sales person convinced me to get a GE microwave and I checked consumer reports with positive reviews. I also asked around. I love my GE microwave. So check with your appliance store to see if they have cooking lessons with the appliances so you can try out the oven you like. And then ask the sales people if they have any customers who are satisfied with their purchase and then talk to them.

We have had our GE Cafe appliance suite since August. We are happy with them so far. We have the slide-in double oven range, refrigerator, dishwasher and Advantium microwave/oven wall combo.
