Epoxy Countertops

Epoxy countertops are getting big! There are options to imitate marble & granite but there are almost no limits on other color schemes & patterns. There's a lot of customers out there looking for granite countertops but don't want to pay the high costs, especially with how much labor goes into the installation process. But we want to get the word out that there is another option out there for high-end countertops that don't require a hefty budget or labor intensive installations. This particular product, as it turns out, does none of that!
The worst fumes that you'd experience is just from applying 91% isopropyl alcohol! And Countertop Epoxy has a huge first-time DIY success rate!

IMO working with epoxies is not for a beginner DIYer plus the smell is enough to drive you from the house at best or give you a huge chemical induced headache

I am interested i worked with epoxies and my DR. stopped me from doing the stuff I did because of migraines.

If you so much as walk past the pictured epoxy top, you'll have a scratch.

Countertop Epoxy is actually scratch resistant, heat resistant up to 500 degrees, and also UV resistant... no headaches from this product: http://www.countertopepoxy.com/shop/page/4/

You definitely can create backsplashes! You could do a metallic one over MDF board (you'll want to pour it flat) and then adhere it vertically!

It appears to be molding that was tacked onto the substrate and coated.

Sorry, "scratch resistant" doesn't mean diddly.

And that video with the alcohol burning is bogus. The alcohol keeps the surface cool as it evaporates and the heat rises. The surface doesn't actually get hot in a short period like that.

I know I an tardy for the party, but I just took a class at Diamond Coat Epoxy, and am so glad that I did. Firstly, there are no noxious fumes. I too get migraines from odors, and actually felt better in the five days I was in Grand Junction, than I have in the past seven years here in AZ. Like most DIY’ers, I researched, read, and watched every video I could find on the subject. Unlike most, I decided that rather be snarky and cynical, I needed a real class. Attached is one of my sample boards, placed on the countertop I will be doing.
