Sounds like it will look nice to me. I'd love to see a photo of the marble tile, though. Is it rated for floor use?

I just looked at it and yes, I think it will look nice. Make sure you buy the samples to make sure in person yourself.

The color is very variable, with some 12" squares very white and others darker. I did a "dry lay-out" and selected the lightest 12" mosaic squares, so that the white "dots" in the pinwheel design don't pop out as much. (Lowe's has a good return policy.)

My other thought was to keep it simple and do a bright white ceramic hexagon tile.

On the walls? White is simple, but hex can be busy depending on size.

Hi, no . I was thinking of using the white hexagon on the floor (instead of the marble mosaic) and sticking with the green Savoy subway tile on the wall. I thought the green and white might be a more simple contrast; that the Lowe's marble tile with all of the variation of the stone and the pinwheel pattern might be too busy.

I think the white would be a very clean look. I wonder if it would drive one crazy trying to keep it spotless.

Thanks, Anne. That's my concern, too. I have samples of both. They look good side by side, but that's different than the whole room, which is only about 6 x 9.

well, I looked at all the Savoy leaf pictures, and it seems to really look nicest with a solid white floor or at least a pale gray one. I think your eye needs that. can you do the walls first, then see what you think about the floor? I think the tile is a sure bet for the walls, it will be beautiful.

IMO small bathrooms look best with few changes in tile and those floor tiles are a lot of grout lines to get grubby I like large format tile on floors and shower walls in bathrooms and the spa feeling comes from simplicity I would save the leaf tile foe a wide band in the shower and backsplash the rest I would do in large format marble tile . Stacks of fluffy white towels a great mirror and good lighting

Hi Patricia, thanks for your comments. This room only has a freestanding tub (no shower). We were planning on doing the leaf tile half-way up the wall on all 4 walls. The reasons I was leaning toward a mosaic on the floor was to reduce the slipperiness of marble and to give a nod to the age of the house (1920s). We had considered 12 x 24 porcelain tile that looked like marble, but were concerned that it looked a little big in the small bathroom, which is roughly 6 x 10. Do you think the large format faux marble would look better? Another thought would be to do some real 12" square marble tiles on the floor, laid in the diagonal. I'm a little concerned about the slipperiness of marble. Your ideas are welcome!!!
