May I pls. ask how you did the overall quilting, & how you marked it (looks so well done) if you used marking?

My local quilt shop did it. They have about 6 longarms. Some are computerized and some have handles. (I know nothing about that aspect.) They do mail order. They also rent time. It's Urban Spools in Dallas.

When I came to the crooked corners, I just kind of guessed at it. The rest of it worked well. I decided it was fine and went on down the road. I couldn't change it, so I might as well be happy with it. And I am.

For my first quilt, I'm really pleased. Of course, there are several mistakes. On some, I was too far down the road to fix them. On others, I was tired of Mr. Seamripper. I learned a lot about cutting accurately (I also bought an Accuquilt.) and how much a small mistake gets bigger. Same with 1/4" seams. I've tried two different feet, the old thing you screw into the bed of machine (I'm into vintage machines) and painters tape. I bought a laser at Harbor Freight last week, but haven't figured out how to put it on the machine. So, all and all, my sewing and cutting skills are improving. Still lots of room left, though.

Amazing job! You picked an excellent pattern for a first time quilt. And the colors are very nice! Honestly, like someone said earlier, no one would've guessed that it was your very first quilt! The great thing about making quilts is the fact that no one notices mistakes except the one making it! May I ask how you came about making your color choices? After looking at your disappearing 9 patch I'm very eager to make one of my own ;) Great job!

The color choices were made for me. I bought 2 Summer Breeze charm packs and added the white and blue to it. Once I saw the Summer Breeze colors, I knew it was one I wanted to use. I got it from Green Fairy Quilts. I tried several colors of blue and green to pick the accent color. You guys helped me with that. As I said previously, you guys were a great resource. Thanks again for your help.
