The white vinyl windows in the yellow brick house mean you need some white there so long as they stay . . . but consider . . .

I see the cool modern detail with the glass block on the left and then the really traditional door and funky window sashes - at least they echo the squares of the block. If the window is aluminum, mask the glass and the surrounding brick and use rustoleum on it - then you can get away from the white issue. (you don't have to do any other windows around the house - just the curb appeal one here) What color for contrast?

Consider using charcoal gray masonry / concrete stain on the brown sills to tie the charcoal gable siding to the house. Right now, the horizontal sills seem like dark brown brick so I'm having a little difficulty mixing charcoal and brown - though I agree that brown and yellow are not ideal. If you can stain just those four sill details closer to gray / black, then going black on a new storm door and black on the window framing .. then you could use a black on the fascia and around the door ..

With that more modern approach, I think you want to change your light fixture to something contemporary and black. Add modern font house numbers and remove the cottage element numbers and various planters by the front stoop . .

Eventually when the budget allows, you will want a contemporary entry door option - you could do a beautiful wood finish with square windows in it to echo the squares again, but for now, you might just paint this door a cement type gray in a high gloss.

Then, you would have a unified color palette - black, dark gray, gray and blond brick.

This has potential to be a cool contemporary cottage with those adjustments. If you hate cool contemporary . .. we could do a funky cottage, but not with the gray and white. One of those things needs to go .. . . if I have read any of the existing colors wrong, let me know. They also have vinyl formulated paint now, so if this is a vinyl window, not all is lost ...

Yes the colors are correct. I meant to say all the brown I want to paint a charcoal grey. Didn't think about the white window and all the other white. You think those should be painted too? What color? Anyone with a good tool to show ideas the color changes would be much appreciated!!!

If you are keeping the white, the white things are fine. Thought you were painting the white fascia trim . .. then you can paint your front door a pretty color instead of white . . .
