Interesting idea...the neighbors on the other side and across the street both have white houses with dark green shutters so don't think I want to add another white house to the block. Actually 2 doors down is white with cream trim and a blue door, very similar to what you're suggesting. Was hoping since my house is gray to start we could just update/clean up the color a bit. There are plenty of trees between my house and the Dorian Gray house, and they have a dark red door/cream trim so I'm thinking it could look different enough. I do like the Oceanside color you recommended. Thanks!

I hear you - your house is very handsome in gray. Neither of the grays that you selected are as blue as what you have - they are warm grays. Gauntlet will read just about as deep as what you have now but is warmer. Test African gray instead . .. it will be good with a turquoise door but stay gray without turning blue . . .

The warmer grays you pulled are nice greiges but if there is a lighter one on your street, then you are still matchy .. remember that a lot of browns and taupes are actually termed gray now just because gray is trendy . . but they are still taupe . . dovetail and gauntlet are those kinds of grays . . beautiful but very different than what you have.

Have you considered a navy field? It may be a more updated look than you wanted for your traditional house but it is really terrific with a turquoise door - look at younghouselove.com for their showhouse if you want to consider this idea . . they used bm newburg green (which isn't green at all - the original teal navy!) SW will make ben moore colors and vice versa btw. . .let me find you the link .

gauntlet gray is a great color, I would do your garage door same color as body

I'm torn because I do like Gauntlet Gray, and do like the painted garage door, but also like the contrast between a deeper gray (this picture is SW Urbane Bronze...which is surprising to me because the chip looks much more brown than this picture) and the white trim (and I like the white garage in this picture). Libradesigneye there is a house on another street in our neighborhood that reads more navy than gray and it's beautiful...something to consider!

Love the navy idea to get your high contrast.

Went with Gauntlet Gray for siding, SW Alabaster for trim, SW Tricorn Black for shutters, SW Aquarium for front door and SW Dovetail @ 60% for garage door. For some reason Dovetail on the garage door was almost exactly the same as gauntlet gray and I didn't want it quite that dark. I'll post pics when it's done. I appreciate the input!
