Restoring my staircase and need molding where the newels meet the tiled floor; the newels on the photo with the shoe molding look great and it's just what I need for my stairs; the shoe molding here appears to have been installed on its side, is this correct? Since I can't seem to find "small" shoe molding here, I wonder if I can cut regular shoe mold shorter? Thanks for any feedback on this issue. Great finish work here. Thank you.
