How to handle vertical blinds?

I just moved into a new apartment and have this bedroom approx 16.5' x 12 those vertical blinds need to go what's a good replacement? Also I wanted to put an accent wall but I think the only wall could be behind the bed and its 16.5 ft long so wasn't sure if that was too big for an accent wall or wouldn't work since the bed is not centered? I'm interior illiterate please help!

Are you renting? Can you change the verticals to regular drapes?

probably a roman shade. no drapes as the heaters below would just blow them around.

I think either horizontal blinds or shutters would look nice.

You have baseboard heating AND a thru-the-wall AC unit. Anything other than an interior mount roman shade, made of heavy material, is going to interfere with proper heating and cooling.

You you normally put curtains with roman shades or no? Just leave them as is
