Late season debudding

It's October and the garden basically iooks like crap. The dahlias keep blooming but I've lost interest for this season. I've just got too many other things on my mind. So now I'm just watching them falling over while waiting for a killing frost...
If I pinch off the buds that are still forming, will the plant store more energy in the tuber? Or will it use more energy trying to replace the lost buds?

Doesn't really matter one way or the other, Doug. The tubers have been growing all summer and are ready for dormancy soon.
