Completely agree with elainesteinke. I don't think you should be concerned about the color for resale reasons at all as they are so close. Both are lovely choices and I like the hand-scraped look if you have children and pets. I do know for a fact, because I have had darker floors and lighter floors, that the darker the floors, the more dust, dirt, dog hair, etc. shows.

I agree with elainesteinke. The Windridge Mocha Hickory has much more warmth and offers contast without being too stark. If you go too dark, scratches and dust shows more easily and you also run the risk of creating the illusion of a smaller space.

Here are the sample boards in our home. One shows the foyer where we get natural light. The other shows our family room where we spend most of the time (not a lot of natural light shines in even with windows along the back of the wall).

We're not using the Ponderosa because it's more expensive. The Mohawk board has 4 colors on it but we're leaning towards the 2 darkest samples - Espresso and Mocha.

Which color did you pick and how has it held up? We are considering the Coffee color in our home.

We ended up going with Shaw Mineral King and really like how it turned out.
