I have shutters for the outer windows in process and will be making window planter boxes all stained to match the columns, do you think that will add too much wood?

i am wondering if I should trim the right tree up higher to make the house more visible? I also plan to add plant color up at the foundation and in the center mulched area. I am Wondering if anyone has other comments or suggestions.
