I am wanting to plant a tree for good fall color to go along with my Sun Valley and Autumn Blaze maples. It would be in full sun and well away from any other structures. Does anyone one have any experience with the Green Mountain Maple and or the Black Gum Tree? Which one would do better in southern Illinois ? I know both are relatively slow growers from what I've read which doesn't concern me.
