Our living room has come a long way. We worked with a designer and got a beautiful sectional sofa, some custom pillows, coffee table, rug, lamp and bench with storage for my son's toys. It's one big room so we got the dining room chairs reupholstered in one of the same fabrics as the pillows to tie it together. We repainted an accent wall in the kitchen to match the colors in the fabrics. We plan to install a long reclaimed wood mantle across the stone wall/fireplace, but I'm a little lost on what to do with a couple of other areas in the room. We have 2 chairs that we just had from before - a big ugly one by the window with a old sofa side table next to it. Obviously it looks weird and has to go. My vision is to create another little "nook" for someone to sit and read by the window and have a small table to set a drink, book, etc. We also love plants and would like a way to display them by the window that doesn't look like a jumbled mess. Chair 2 is an Ikea chair we had and we just sort of stuck it there and the cats have taken it over. We had talked to the designer about getting a small upholstered chair to put there that could be pulled up closer to the couch when you have a lot of guests, but not sure what kind of chair would look best.
