Oh, I've noticed greens sprouting here, too. In an area in front of my house, I've had trouble getting things to grow. Even the toughest plants have died there. So I spread out my biennial Echium simplex seeds and cheered their sprouting. Until the rains came and I realized weeding is strictly a by-hand-one-at-a-time pull task now. lol

So I doubled-down and threw out some CA poppy seeds.

Lol,well Its great now..but if I start posting things are getting rot...A local meteor man told me the call is wet until mid November for the bay area.

So,I enjoy all now.

I'm still waiting on green down here. That last storm just slid right past us with hardly any rain.

We got just a bit of rain here in the SFV, but I'm sure it's enough for weeds to start sprouting.

Yesterday.

I commute on 280 every morning and while it is always beautiful, this time of year makes me wish for traffic so I can drive slower and drink it all in!

Looks nice. I've been away from CA for a decade, but I lived in the bay area for 60 years. I don't actually recall my impression of the 'green up' time, but I am very clear on the rainy season there. It was always 3rd week in Sept thru End of March or Mid April at most. On some Septembers you only got one light rain and same for October, but in any case I would think that would get some grass started before the real rains of November.
