How would you furnish this entry?

Luckily the possibilities seem endless biut I'd like to make some decisions.

ideally I'd like storage from a console or a round table w drawer and a bench either under the console or two chairs on either side of the table I choose. I'm thinking a long grey inlay mirror on the wall next to the closet but that back wall where the stairs are is trumping me. I'd like great art but don't know high kind of furniture to choose or how to set it up. The wall is 53" wide.

The he images show the main wall and the rooms on both sides.

The wall where the column is is where the closet is and there is another on the othe side of the front door which is where I shot the picture from.

Any suggestions?!

Thanks @Havenly ! I will check it out for sure. It's been so hard to find a console that fits with drawers that I can fit a bench under. Hopefully I will come upon one-perhaps on your blog!

Also to Havenly , curious as to what color console you'd pick? I am back and forth between white, grey and darker wood.

Your post is confusing as to exactly where you need help but here goes! So I would look for something that has some shape and iron work right as you come in. Mirror behind buffet lamp and some plants. Flank the entrance to you dining room with vertical art. Then on the blank wall where in the dining room is where I would but the console with bench underneath and a mirror over that. Look at this conceptually, not necessarily your style.

Sorry Nancy Ingram but thank you for the lovely mockup! I am going to try to do this as well moving forward! The wallpapered room is my dining room but I will be putting furniture in there eventually. I wasn't sure how to lay the art along the back wall (that backs the stairs and as the entry wall I am trying to fill) but you made good argument with that mirror. I also think putting more vertical will make a large difference!
