That's what I was thinking, but won't either choice make the other one stick out in the tile? Our furniture is brown leather.

I would pick an actual color (not the color of the tile), otherwise it will all blend together.

Looks like you have large windows and plenty of natural light coming in. If you like drama and color, bring up a bright version of the base color in the tile for most of the space, and do a deep charcoal accent wall.

Wish I could see the granite!

You can go with light tan will look serene and more casual if you want your furniture to stand out go for gray or light blue but not the baby blue let me know if you have any question

Your tiles would look well with greyed shades of blue, or, if you like warm palettes, light mustard shades would also pick up some of the variation and blend w woodwork.

Quite a room! Perhaps look at greyed greens, as well, then. -If you haven't an extra tile to take to the paint store,try and buy a single similar one,to use when picking the paint.

Cherry casework is warm, floor cool. Brown can go either way - I'm thinking chocolate brown but if it is saddle or some other tone, please ask again. I tend to think a warm neutral will do better with your cabinets and the floor (having tan and gray tones) will work beautifully if you start over in the camel family. Look at sw burlap, macadamia, basket beige tones - charcoal will make the kitchen feature really strong and won't read well with the brown leather unless it is also in the saddle family like the casework.

The island front will be fine when painted, though I personally would go down the shade chart two steps to a darker tone for that one element so it "reads" with the kitchen where the color is more intense. Green and blue will make the kitchen cabinet tone look too bright against the floor, though a muted cornstraw tone / taking the camel towards straw could work. I'm not a fan of brown and gold but some are. If you go neutral, then you can have your green and blue in accents and fabrics and yet it works with the kitchen.

Think the green or mustard family would incorporate better than the blue, overall, now that I see everything.

I'm voting for sage green or gray-green. If that's the dining room to the right of the island I'd go a shade or two darker on the same color swatch for a subtle look that would define the room.

Yep, if your leather is saddle brown, then a gray green or khaki green is going to be a dramatic backdrop. How about a blue/green with your brown leather sofas? Then, for the kitchen a "tan" color to distinguish each space. You don't have to go this dark, but how about something like this? If this is too bold, you can do an accent wall only. Don't stop the paint on a wall though...stop at a corner, not at the "kitchen".

Have you considered a backsplash? You have a perfect defined space for one and it would give the whole room personality!
